New Images | Punakaiki, Paparoa National Park

We have recently had the pleasure of re-visiting beautiful Punakaiki in Paparoa National Park. This West Coast wonderland is an amazing family destination and we were fortunate to strike uncharacteristically pristine summer weather - here is a selection of images from our short stay in Punakaiki.
Putai Blowhole at Sunset, Punakaiki, West Coast This particular evening appeared to be a sunset 'fizzer' until the very last minutes when the sun broke through the clouds on the horizon. We were lucky enough to have this coincide with the Putai blowhole at working during a Tasman Sea swell. These 'eruptions' are a double edged sword, as my lens was constantly being covered in sea spray - a giant pain in the butt... Photography by: Todd Sisson. The Pororari River near Punakaiki (Paparoa National Park) The steep cliffs of the Pororari River gorge as seen from the popular walking track. We walked this track with the kids and it was the highlight of our time in Punakaiki - Jack and Indi were particularly taken by the nude hipster who had set himself up in a rock pool, beside the track- complete with a pack of smokes, a bluetooth speaker and a dozen beers...
